Against the Current
2 weeks 2 days ago
INDUSTRIAL UNION BUILDING in the 1930s has long been the lodestar for the post-New Deal labor left. Jacobin

The Dog Stars Is a Western in Postapocalyptic Drag

Jacobin
2 weeks 2 days ago
Ridley Scott’s The Dog Stars is a postapocalyptic thriller without thrills, resting on the shoulders of a mopey Jacob Elordi, who’s far from up to the task. What the film does have is a frontier fantasy it can’t stop indulging.

Labor Network for Sustainability

A new report from the nonpartisan business group E2 found that since Donald Trump was inaugurated, 216 major clean energy generation and manufacturing projects were scrapped, closed, or downsized. That led to the loss of nearly half a million potential jobs. The projects would have generated an estimated $53 billion in wages for workers during construction and more than $31 billion annually after they began operation.
