The IWW is famous for many things, including it's many folk songs and labor anthems (including the very famous, Solidarity Forever, written by Ralph Chaplin ca. 1915). Indeed, the "Wobblies" have often been often referenced as the singing union" and it has produced thirty eight (and soon to be thirty nine) editions of its famous Little Red Songbook. However, in our modern, commercialized and monetized world, many of the tunes have fallen into obscurity, and others are not particularly well known. This archive aims to correct that., so that the once popular "music of the people", shared through what was known as "the folk process" can be restored, and new generations can learn these still entirely relevant songs.

The following songs have been known to appear in one or more versions of the IWW's Little Red Songbook ( listed in alphabetical order by title):

  • Banks of Marble
  • Casey Jones the Union Scab
  • Hallelujah I'm A Bum
  • Hold the Fort
  • Potter Valley Mill
  • Put It On The Ground
  • Solidarity Forever
  • The Ballad of Joe Hill
  • The Popular Wobbly (They Go Wild, Simply Wild over Me)
  • The Preacher and the Slave (Long Haired Preachers)
  • The Rebel Girl
  • The Red Flag
  • Where The Fraser River Flows
  • Which Side Are You On?
  • Who Bombed Judi Bari?

Wherever possible, lyrics, sheet music, and a video recording of each song has been provided, so that you may learn them for yourself and tech them to others.
